IRMINA RUSICKA

(born in 1990) Visual artist, author of installations, videos and research. Graduate of psychology and art history at the Interdepartmental Individual Humanities Studies at the University of Wrocław (2014) and media art at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław (2017). As part of an inter-university exchange, she studied media art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio of Krzysztof Wodiczko and Prof. Grzegorz Kowalski (2016-2017). Since 2018 she has been working at the Academy of Art in Szczecin.

In her works, she combines critical socio-political expression with existential dimension. Present in her works are gallows humour and the element of angst. She lives in Warsaw. She works individually, as well as in a duet with Kasper Lecnim.

She is a laureate of Talenty Trójki in 2018, in the category of visual arts, WARTO 2019 in the category of visual arts, finalist of the Szara Kamienica Foundation Award in 2018. Her works have been exhibited at BWA Warszawa, Wrocław Contemporary Museum, BWA Wrocław, Łaźnia Centre for Contemporary Art in Gdańsk, Kronika Centre for Contemporary Art in Bytom, Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Mysteskyi Arsenal in Kiev, Zachęta National Gallery of Art or Polish Sculpture Centre in Orońsko.

Her works are in the Zachęta Collection of Contemporary Art in Szczecin.
